We celebrated the 4th of July fireworks with my family, and fits were thrown all night (and not just by my boys).

There were many lessons about doing hard things.

And it didn’t work.

I chastised my boys because they FORGOT by becoming short-sighted when we are not reminded of how much we really have.

“The Lord chastens those whom the Lord loves.”

I tag-teamed with my wife and my boys learned that I REFUSE to have sons that are weak in body and mind.

Life is meant to have challenges; the luxuries that we have in life came at a cost. They were not given to us.

I reminded them, just as the Children of Israel were reminded who delivered them out of bondage.

The Gali family does NOT fall down and die.

My boys need to understand that the lifestyle that we’re creating cannot be an entitled one.

When we hit adversity, we strive to become stronger.

We have to learn how to go through life either the hard way or the easy way. The “hard things” that we do when we’re exhausted and tired are easier than living an entitled life expecting life to be given to you, because eventually gratitude must be learned.

WE MUST LEARN TO BE GRATEFUL WHEN WE HAVE IT!

When we don’t have something, it’s AMAZING how grateful we become. We long and wish for that which we used to have.

Ask yourself:

* Where can I show more appreciation for what I currently have?

* Am I teaching my children to be grateful and displaying love in how I teach them?

* Where can I course correct immediately when I see myself or my family ungrateful?

Instead of living with regret for not being grateful, take time to step back and recognize the gifts that we’re given who we have a life of plenty.
